Milton Keynes

MK isn't that far from Shoe-town
It's a strange place, perhaps a bit soul-less
but every now and then
on a sunny day,
you get an idea of what the planners were trying to achieve...




I quite like it there.

Pride of Northampton

The town is currently running an exhibition of giant lions, decorated by local artists.

They are all round the town, standing guard, scaring old ladies and generally brightening the place up.

This is "Bone Machine" by Bill Pollard, stalking its prey in Abington Street...

This guy is the awesome "Lionfish" by Ross White and Rory Davis.

Hidden away in the Guildhall, this has to be seen to be believed.

P.S. - the locals are loving it.

Today was Northampton's Carnival - there was even nice weather!

Everyone was out and about:

The local school kids (obviously loving it...)

A good day was had by all.

Northampton Statue

The statue is to commemorate one of the discoverers of the structure of DNA who was a local boy. I love it.
